@jorsh So I was HEAVILY into thrash when I was a teen (in the late ‘80s early ‘90s) but after that drifted away… until last year when my therapist suggested, “hey, why don’t you try listening to metal again?”
But I barely recognize these bands! 
The two current bands that I love are Zeal & Ardor, and Mastodon. Looking at your list I guess not your thing, but would love any suggestions!

My problem is that everything now seems to be growling and to be honest I do like a bit of singing (hence Zeal & Ardor is the perfect mix).
